My friend wants a cheap board and is looking at the Acton blink can anyone advise if it’s good or bad , 7mile/15mph but cheap as chips worth it or avoid ?
Im gonna go with that. I don’t know anyone that’s owned one that didn’t have it brake.
Cheap and OK is Meepo new versions.
I would hope it brakes
It’s horrible, I hit a rock and the whole wheel chunked and left me flying
Stay the fuk away from Acton. Nothing good really comes from that company
Im shook, did it actually just chunk and pop off?!
Big piece of the wheel chunked off, it was my second esk8
Like literally half the wheels urethane
Pics or it didnt happen
Na I believe you, I rode a blink for about 30 feet and got off…
It was a while back, I wasn’t even on the forum yet, let me look. Don’t remember if I took pictures
Couldn’t find any, damn I should have taken a picture, it was real bad
@B-b-q-tom, I got a meepo campus cruiser, Sanyo battery, goes up to 18mph, I’d sell it for cheap, didn’t think of it @M.Hboards
He’s read all your replies and he’s gonna go with a meepo v2 instead now , thanks , we don’t know anyone with an Acton so this was very helpful
I had an Acton once upon a time. Literally taped the battery/esc onto a longboard. To be honest, their first single belt drive was actually “good”. I got baited into the whole hub motor hype at the time and sent my board in for a belt to hub motor swap for $100. That hub broke within 1-2 miles of slow circling my office parking lot.
I contacted Acton about it and there was “nothing they can do” eventually a solution was reached where they gave me an Acton Lite and called it even. The Lite was cute, but useless for me unless I had one for each foot
Really? I rode an action blinkquatro once and I really really liked it.
Well the Quatro is a whole different level of board compared to their other stuff.
But still stupid thin urethane, and cheap remote. Braking is still a bit harsh, but I guess that’s something one can get used to. If they are still in business and planning future eskates. I hope they use the new Chinese ESCs because 2018 seems to be when they finally got things running smoothly.
After a lot of decision making he bought the wowgo and loves it , so much so he has done a review of it and put it on YouTube https://youtu.be/Zo3JdZz6TGA it’s actually a good review he’s only a young chap but worth a watch
