That’s a good question. I don’t know. How did @Chris_KP do it?
I leave it raw cork its very good against the elements i ride back and forward to the surf moast of the time when im wet and the cork gets soaked and then dries up. i stick some tape about 5mm gap around the edges and then paint on some epoxy to stop the cork chipping up against the edges, but other than that it really dosent need sealing.

it might be time to build a real cadillac with cushy grip and everything.
