(Completed) First build. Sk3 6364 - 3d printed pulley - single drive - baby buffalo case mod - 6s 5000mah lipo - 120amp esc - epoxy enclosures

I have never done a clamp bracket, I prefer the solidness of the welded bracket. (especialy seeing as I roll 70mm wheels and the bracket hits small rocks a lot) I got the plate from ebay. I think it was this one: http://au.picclick.com/Aluminium-Flat-Bar-6mm-x-60mm-x-300mm-301826607364.html 2 brackets from that piece.

thanks heaps! thats really helpful. Iā€™m thinking of going with the 12mm thick i think that will be enough. i was thinking of taking the approach like the tb clamp mount and the exertion clamp mount. my build consists of caliber trucks so it will be rather easy to get s sturdy fit

true. and having an Xcarve will almost certainly help too!

manā€¦ the things I would doā€¦

actually another thing I like about welding is that Iā€™m not limited to squareish trucks.

yeah thats a point but then you have no flexibility like moving them around. Do you get a specialist guy to weld the aluminium brackets? when Iā€™ve finished the cnc get in touch with me might be able to cut you some stuff for you!

I do the welding myself.

will these set screws work? they are from an old surfboard from the fcs fin boxes. They are made out of stainless and have a diameter of 3.9mm

they look almost identical to the ones I use. remember to loctite.

ok so they will work well? an what kind of loctite do you use?

yeah they should work. I use red loctite, I cant remember the numberā€¦ 406?

edit: no, wait thats super glueā€¦ 262 is the one.

Seeing as @onloop is busy Iā€™ll repost this in all the threads that donā€™t follow the guidelines quoted by onloop here:

In order to make the ā€œE-board Buildsā€ category really easy to search & locate specific builds i am asking that you change your title to something descriptive that better expresses the makeup of your build. Most of the new build threads tend to end up with a name such as ā€œnew- noob - noobie - beginner - first - build - help - newbā€ this becomes hard to keep track of. I would like to see each build thread with a descriptive title, such as; Project Name | Deck Name | Trucks | Motor type | Mounting method | Voltage/Battery | ESC

Example The Samurai | Custom Deck | Paris Trucks | R-SPEC | Custom Mount | 10S | VESC

dude i stated all my parts at the begging and theres no need for you to point that outā€¦ @onloop would have all ready pointed that out

ok thanks dude! can you get it at bunnings?

yeah pretty sure that where i got itā€¦ http://www.bunnings.com.au/loctite-10ml-studlock-threadlocker-adhesive_p1560360

checked the website, they have 263 which is more or less the same stuff

sweet man your such a help!

Itā€™s hard to find a build on the home page when theyā€™re all called the same thing. I was just trying to help @onloop because heā€™s busy. Putting the parts on your post is great but itā€™s not going to help anyone find your build quicker is it?

how did you find this then??

Onloop posted it on a few posts a while ago. My build thread has the comment as well. http://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/geminon-6s-sk3-6374-192kv-14-36-25kmh-tb-12s-esc/187

No harm intended. Just trying to make the topics easier to find.

@Chris_KP if this is yoyr build thread you should definatley change the category to e-board build category.

You may also consider putting keywords in your description to help people locate this thread in years to come when it is potentially burried deep in the abyss of info the world createsā€¦

Also i luje to think about how people search for info on google. They search stuff like ā€œDual motor electric skateboard caliber trucksā€ They donā€™t necessarily search for ā€œfirst build in progress adviceā€

So having a unique thread title helps more then you might think.

Thanks Jason.

Update **

Ive been putting off this step for a while and have been busy with school. I sat down a yesterday and spent the whole day drawing up my motor mount which I 3D printed so that i can reference and tweak while I fabricate my final one in 12mm aluminium.
