Evolve Skateboards - New Board - GT Carbon!

@Rob.Endless, I’ve done 100 km in the last few days and still not a mark on the board… Are you sure your ‘scuffs’ don’t just wipe off. Carbon fibre is a bit more resilient than you are making out, especially in skate shoes. Just needs a wipe, just like paint.

Can you guys please let me know what top speeds you can get on different wheel types.

I’m still maxed at 35km At and 40km 97mm abecs.

Good to compare speeds. ( flat ground minimal wind ).

That sounds about right, ~35kph 7", 40+ with 8" There’s setting in the remote for 8"(200mm)

Can I fit old 8inch mbs wheels on GT?

Some people have done it. They fit on the evolve hubs, clearance can be close, but they work. Haven’t done it yet, but looking to get trampa tyres

I had some problems with 7in at setup. Sent them back, Evolve said they’d replace them.

On streets for the moment…Might try 8in when I get at’s back.

True. I know I’ve seen guys on Facebook saying the evolve 7" tyres are lasting better than the mbs roadies.

The trampas apparently are soft and one guy was saying not recommended for continuous road use

The 7in setup was clicking when I turn or carve. Also tyres were a little wobbly.

They grip well and feel good, think I got a bad batch.

Clicking potentially bearing movement in hubs? Mbs had it, grease sorts it. Did the tyre look like it was seated properly? I’m out tonight but will check mine tomorrow. They seem ok though.

I never experienced any with MBS hubs on Cabon. Think clicking was bearings unseating or something.

Hey folks, we are all curious how much you really like the board? Can you carve nicely? Is the remote trigger too sensitive? Comparisons to the Boosted… etc. I’m ready to drop out of preorder on the M1 and pick up on the next GT. Keep the reviews coming ! Thanks

Love the board, shorter, lighter and more acceleration. Drop down deck is great, feet lock in nicely.

Carves better than carbon with shorter deck. Double carve trucks The lower profile is sexy as hell!

Trigger is sensitive and controls nicely. Heaps of Torque, eats up grass, dirt and big hills with ease. ( ** Careful on GT mode… LEAN FORWARD on takeoff. LEAN BACK if you break ). Display really seals the deal. Easy to read and speed and distance are quite accurate.

Not a huge fan of the bearings but waiting for my oust moc 9’s and also like to upgrade the 6900z drive bearings. ( have tried nachi double rubber seals in the past but am going to give NSK a go this time. ) Hopefully get a couple of kmh more out of it.

Only problem has been with my AT set but evolve service is really good. I have dealt with them in the past with no problems.

If you like Esk8ting get one of these, for a complete board this is way ahead of the competition. A balance of speed, acceleration, torque and range. The controller with display and being able to quickly change from skate to offroad really tops it off nicely. ( let me know if I left anything out lol )

Verdict: Hurry up and get one. So worth the money! P.S. I’ve never tried a boosted but seems over priced for what u get ( or don’t get )

Yup, it’s been up for some time

Just upgraded my order from street to 2 in 1 plus an extra charger for the office. What is interesting is that they made the upgrade and I’m still in the 1st batch which lets me think that all gt s might be comming as 2 in 1 's frok the factory and depending on the orders adjusted to steet/AT only by the distributor. Also my understanding is that they will be sending me the old standard charger as the spare since they specifically told me it is compatible with the gt and i don t see any new chargers on the german website

They probably had extra of those swappable kits so adding that to your order turns you into a “2 in 1” The charger is the same because the battery is the same wH even though it’s now lithium ion instead of Lithium Polymer.

This one’s for @Mr_Mahal, while waiting for my GT to show up next Tuesday this carbon fiber enclosed dual hub deck arrived today from China. Funny, looks like the result of a fight between his raptor and GT :grinning:

Please everybody let me know when you get your AT setups. Want to see how true wheels spin and if there is any unwanted noise while turning carving.

Thanks and have fun carving…

Holy crap dude, I was thinking about buying it a few weeks ago but decided not to because its from China. How is the ride so far?

Do you have the link for this board?

Will try and start a new thread when I get some board time with the CF, so not to distract this awesome GR thread. Quick early read is pretty positive, rides well so far and really superstealth slim CF deck with all enclosed, 13lbs 36" with grab bar kick tail perfect for NYC. Fallback is nice deck, 10s4p battery with BMS, reasonable hubs, micro remote, dual ESC, ok trucks etc. One link is http://www.bisekcycle.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=8&product_id=116

Moderator, feel free to separate out this thread, not sure I know how to start a new one :grimacing: Lol
