I’m not sure. I know Enertion has said that the battery amp is not an absolute limit and it can spike higher for a few seconds (which is what happened in my case, albeit much higher than I would imagine) and that the Battery Limit is for both sides of the vesc so 30 amps would be like setting two VESC’s to 15 amps but it appears that the 30 amp limit is per side but again as Enertion states, the Unity battery amp limit is supposed to be a total limit.
Hey all! I’m trying to update my Raptor 2.1 Firmware but after a short time the Android app on my Samsung Note 4 loses connection!.. “BLE error: ConnectionError” Any ideas??
The best and most reliable way is to open the enclosure and do the firmware update via USB cable with a Windows machine.
In the latest firmware the bluetooth connection is stabilized and should give you less headache than now.
Alright, went out for another ride. Changed the amp limit from 30 -> 20 and the max amps I saw was 40. SO I guess the Unity setting is “per VESC.” Because that’s pretty damning to me.
Unrelated, I was unable to write or read any settings on the app for a bit and the only fix was to restart my phone.
Wow that’s interesting, definitely contrary to what was repeatedly stated, that battery amps is total for both sides.
Motor amps set at 70a and battery max at 60a.
Thats what I got:
70.9A battery, 134.2A motor
Sorry if I’m not posting my question in the right spot. Need a little help setting up my Unity from the app. I’m trying to put in custom voltage cutoffs for my diye 10s5p (31V and 41.8V). It doesn’t seem to keep when I try writing it to the board. Every time I reconnect it has reset itself to the default 12s voltages. Am I doing something wrong?
It is just a bug that causes it to display that way sorry, it rounds to the nearest cutoff in the display but in reality it is maintaining the settings unless you write a config over it. I’ll have a fix for this in the next release.
Hey goldrabe, Thanks for the speedy reply!
For anybody else searching for similar info here is the link I used to download the UnityFOCBOX UI onto my Windows 10 PC… (v1.3 which I assume is the latest Version??)
Initially I was trying to use the BLDC Tool which gave me an error when trying to connect to the board but the UnityFOCBOX UI connected to the board via USB C with no issues & now the Bluetooth connection between the Raptor 2.1 & Unity UI App on my phone is perfect…
Quick Update: So AFTER screwing the enclosure back onto the board I realised the power was cutting out at full throttle when in R-Spec mode. I had calibrated the remote incorrectly; i.e whilst in beginner mode & not R-Spec mode.
There is also still bluetooth connection issues on the Unity UI with my phone (Samsung Note 4) but luckily (after a few attempts) I could just about manage to calibrate the remote again before loosing Bluetooth connection.
My Samsung tablet seems to hold Bluetooth connection OK but it would be great if somebody can solve the connection issue with the Samsung Note 4…?
Hopefully this will help someone expirencing similar issues in the future.
Does the Unity run also with Vesc tool and ackmaniac?
Ackmaniacs firmware doesn’t support dual motors on one mcu. You need Unitys firmware.

There should be motor temp sensors but I think on first batch they did not work properly, but second batch supposed to work?
Motor temp sensors work fine on my first batch unity
Thanks for the reply! I’ll keep an eye out for the next update
yes thats how it is.
Unity has no problem. The problem is the first batch TBDD.
Cool! I ordered TB DD’s second batch. I ordered the 90KV they sent me the 75KV so I’m in the process of sending back. And on the waiting list for Focbox on back order also!
i have an issue with my Unity now I think. While I’m breaking towards the tail end of the break for about .5 seconds it seems the breaks release and then reapply themselves…since it’s the tail end of the break it does not throw me off or anything just feel weird AF. also i get the same thing when accelerating about a .5 second period it feels the like it skips, or like the breaks were grazed. any ideas. I did notice my steering trim was off on my remote. 23.44 FW, 190Kv 6374 maytech, 12s6p
