Yeah you’re right being lazy will probably bite me in the end anyway.
What are the holes for on the connectors I bought? Are they meant to run the wires in them? A tutorial I saw said to put the wire into the connector, heat the connector and then put solder inside so it binds them together, but I think these holes would cause the solder to leak out? I can supply a photo in a bit if it helps

if so, they’re solder overflow channels, don’t route anything thru them.
Exactly like that, so basically: Strip the wire enough that the ends of it reach the end of the connector. Then solder inside but only up until the channels so it doesn’t spill out?
I would pre fill the connector with solder, then add a little bit of solder to the stripped wire. Once you’ve done that you can heat the connector up while pushing the wire into the connector hole. This gives a really good joint and is quick and simple
