So I got a durometer yesterday and have been measuring stuff.
Here’s a partial list of my personal testing.
80mm 80a kegels: 78a measured
70mm 75a arc penny wheels: 75-76a measured
90mm popocas 78a: 75-76a measured
China clone wheels 90mm Abec Core 78a: 85a measured.
My cat: 5a measured
Purple nipples(bushing not body part): 83-84a measured
Yellow nipples(bushing not body part): 86-87a measured
Blood orange 89a bushings: 89a measured
Riptide wfb 93a: 89a measured
Venom hpf red color don’t know what duro ; 89a measured
Diyeboard airless tyres: 60a measured
My thumb: 30a measured
Enertion rspec ghost 90mm (China made) :80a measured
Enertion 90mm outwheels: 75a measured
Ownboard hub motor sleeve: 80a measured
Venom(?) glow in the dark(?) bushing :89a measured

When you rest the base of the meter on the surface you want to measure. It measures how far the pin at the middle extend/ pressure on the pin since the pin is slightly longer.

I don’t think measuring duro only is a true indicator of a high quality wheel. You also have rebound which is a bit harder to measure and the thane formula which is also harder to measure. Nice though. Very well needed info

FYI, You need to include temperature when giving “real life” durometer readings on urethane.
Try measuring the durometer of a wheel before a ride, and then again after its been ridden for 5 min.
