ROAM || Short TRAMPA MTB Deck || Dual VESCs (Mixed) || 190kv || TB Inspired Motor Mount || 3D Print Pulleys

Here is my electric mountainboard build that was started mid-April 2017. Have gotten 3 days of riding in and it’s so much fun! Going to the MTB park next weekend!

DETAILS ABOUT THE BUILD:

CURRENTLY WORKING ON:

  • Working on a carbon fiber VESC enclosure
  • Motor mount guards
  • Designing a logo

ONLINE CALCULATORS I USED:

Speed Calculator Center Distance Calculator Used the tables from BeltingOnline to design the 72T pulley

PHOTOS:

  1. Motor Mount/Clamp designed in SolidWorks

  2. The Center to Center distance. Mine was calculated to 107.42mm.

  3. Full assembly of my mountainboard.

  4. 3D printed 72T wheel pulley with ABS material. Has been working great!

  6. Preparing to CNC the mounts.

  7. CNC’d the motor mounts and clamps

  8. Drilling the hole that will be tapped.

  9. Drivetrain is partially complete (guards are remaining)

  11. Soldering on 5.5mm bullet connectors onto the VESCs.

  12. VESC voltage and current settings for a 9S 190kv setup. Working fine for 3 days of riding around the park.

  13. Ride Day 1: Testing around the park. Everything was a success!

  14. Ride Day 2: Riding off trail! So much fun!!

Thank you! The tools came from my university machine shop where I also used the available scrap they had. Figured I save a few bucks after spending so much!

Hey man! That’s Flippin awesome! I see you’re in reno NV and I am too. I got myself a boosted but we should ride the streets sometime. I’ve seen a few people around but haven’t been able to contact them! I’m by UNR
