Sk3 245kv on 12s battery?😬😬

Hi! I am building an Electric skateboard and i have a sk3 245kv laying around and i am wondering if i can use it with my 12s4p battery?

Well, it’s not the optimal combination because you will exceed the ERPM recommended settings. Just be sure to limit your ERPM to 60k and you will be fine.

ok Thanks!

Does a Motor which is advertised as 10S Motor withstand the higher voltage of 12S ?

yes. its just a suggestion for the motor bearings max rpm. but mine are working great for a long time.

I was talking to the guys at hobby king about this and they said you will burn the copper windings as the quantity of windings is related to the voltage rating. Thoughts?

this thread is years old dude.

higher voltage means less current is needed for the same power. less current = less heat

i think, could be completely wrong

I am lead to believe that the current is equal to the voltage divided by the resistance of the circuit. So considering that the resistance remains the same and I the voltage increases, the value of current will increase. As some of the energy created by current is dissipated as heat i can only assume that it will have a higher heat discharge.
