Would this work? First Build

Ahh. Fair.

Would it be good to order from someone else to save a couple bucks or just keep it with Dickyho since he seems to be pretty trusted and would consolidate most of the ordering?

Thank you so much for all your help.

Wish my Physics C class would have helped me get more into this during High School. Paper math is so much simpler.

Few lines down in the same product description

So as far as I understand it, you can modify it for different voltage, you just need to change bridges, you can’t just connect different voltage.

What? I was thinking of sticking with the 6s. Didn’t really plan on switching.

It changes nothing for you. I just wanted to understand this esc better, hence I replied to Skunk

You can get some components cheaper, but that’s up to you. You won’t save significant amount.

My friend, I am gonna write smt on the esc-motor part… Its understandable to choose an esc + remote set but the power output of that circuit is low… 10A… 350W… (This power level is only adequate for the hoverboard motors) Your outrunners will draw well above 1000W and that current level will burn your esc… state of the art right now is the vescs… If we investigate their minimum current supply level is 50A… Besides, these kit-type circuits are not recommended… Not by me, at least

The one from Dickyho or the one previously mentioned? I thought the things from Dickyho would be pretty good quality.

It’s not the best quality, but it will work for sure. If you decide to go for dickyho motors post an update on forums I want to know how it holds up, or if it does even work.

Dickyho mounts are good quality. Dickyho is not manufacturing that ESC afaik, he is just selling it.

For some people that ESC is good enough

They looks the same to me. Dickyho is adding heatsink to it, which will help for sure.

Did you ask the question to me ? I was talking about the esc in the question, that Dickyho store has both vesc type and kit type escs, one should investigate the output power of those circuits… Then, after purchase, must be tested in real usage of course… sometimes, in the field we cannot get the manufacturer specs out of the products you know…

Yep. I have one. Well aware.

Its basically what’s in a lot if lower end pre built stuff, or cheap kits like on diyeboard.

The main difference between motors of the same kv but different size is heat displacement. A single 50xx is gonna hate you. A single 60xx can handle that alot better

Ok. The full build looks like its gonna be this:

Total comes out to around 280, which was my goal. Now to just find a charger and I seem to be good to go. Thank you for all your guys’ help!

IMAX B6AC clone is a good choice for balance charger imho. For only $25, you can’t go cheaper. Had one for 7 years. There are bad clones and good clones, but this one is most selling on aliexpress so I assume it’s good clone. If not, aliexpress has protection.

So, one last thing to ask of people - Turns out shipping for HobbyKing is quite a bit. Anyone know of a battery that might be cheaper but would still work well? Think this might do it - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kinexsis-22-2V-5000mAh-6S-30C-LiPo-10AWG-EC5-Battery-/303115386248

The brand is a bit weird, but it looks the same as any turnigy battery.

How can i write about my topic ? I dont know how to create it.helpppppp Plss

You’re too new to create topics.

If you have a question try here

or use the surch function

https://www.electric-skateboard.builders/search?context=topic&context_id=9559&skip_context=true

If you are trying to sell something or make a build thread just hang out for a bit. Read stuff. Like stuff. Comment on stuff. And you’ll unlock the ability to create topics.

I decided to use ZOP 6S 8000mAh for my build, it cost $60 when using coupon “ZOPower2”. Try to look at my build topic, there are links. Keep in mind that ZOP batteries are not high in C-rating, but since the capacity is so high, it shouldn’t be a problem.

That Kinexsis is probable ok brand since horizonhobby sells it, but this particular one has been discounted so the ebay seller is selling old supplies. Old lipos perform worse.

EDIT: That Kinnexsis is used battery. I would not buy used lipo, you never know what previous owner did with it.

Welp, I ordered it off ebay, but immediately sent a request to cancel the order. If that goes through I can order the ZOP. Thanks for the advice.

If you’re into buying used lipos then I am your man. I have 2s lipos in stock right now that are the size of 6s. I also have some cracking 3s that are the shape of footballs. All perfect working order. Being silly over safe now but I would charge them in an ammunition case. Outside. Underground. 2 miles from your house.
