Battery layout 10s3p

Hey guys, im going to build my first battery pack.

Have seen some designs and layouts. Because its going to be a city cruiser with a quite small board, i don’t want a thick case.

I have found the mboards design to fit quite well by outer dimension, but im not sure if this design is so optimized. What i see as potential danger is a short circuit between the two big sides.

Below i have drawn 2 designs, one is the mboard, the other one is how i would do it.

Apreciate ur input guys, if there are better designs im all ears.

cheers!

Also im not sure which nickel stripes to take!

I’m using Samsung 50s cells (5000mah, 35A sensored at 80°C/176F) in 3p config, so 105A max output. Tho it is a city cruise, so i wont be taking that power for more than 10 seconds.

Planned on either use 2x7mm pure nickel stripes or 2x10 pure nickel stripes and to connect the p’s i will use either 10 or 12awg wires.

The snake layout can be better but you also need to consider balance wire routing. Also, a lot of folks don’t like the main output wires coming out on different ends of the battery.

And a significant fraction of folks just don’t like anything that isn’t symmetrical. Just because.
