wonder if you could get the rotation simply using the tube in octagonal format
and because you are THE carbon guy!
And do away with the bottom plate, bolt through the deck with a thick washer on the underside to strengthen

Will probably end ~1/2kg (1lb) for the pair
That’s cool stuff. I’ve never seen these in person. How widely used are these?
That’s awesome! I have about 20 ft of scrap aluminum extrusion just waiting at home!
Oh jeez, no idea. just goofed about on google for a couple of mins! I think they use are used in exhibition centres, but it is pretty specialist?

That’s the spirit! These are usually cost nothing to find in small pieces.
I want some keep us updated
pretty cool, going to do a deep search on ali/taobao
So, here is the update:
Yesterday piece was a bad print, today it’s slightly updated - smaller part overall, and closer to the final design. I’ve mounted one on an aluminum plate for testing, first off two things:
So, I’ve mounted this upside down, and stood on it through a belt:
Let’s do some calcs here: Let’s say we want to jump with a board. MTB board is ~20kg auw? So, 10kg per binding, let’s double it - 20kg per binding.
I’m 87kg and was completely standing on it before the belt slipped (can remove some material).
This is with PLA and 60% infill.
It’s safe to say - you’ve got yourself a binding design, I believe it’s sub 10$ minus the print.
Enjoy, Dani
Will be shared.
You could print one for yourself
And the baseplate?
That too. Just have to finish it.
I have an access to water jet here, so I may practice cut several.
Totally possible!
Thanks! Ultimaker2+
Wow! Nice printer!
The master at work, this is a really deadly design. Even though it’s thicc I would suggest PETG for final design as any ender peops can print & without getting into arguing that is stronger
Nobody wants a mount breaking mid-turn = accident
L brackets exist already for profiles, an L bracket at each side = baseplate
