Right but if a 20A ESC is capable of producing close to the maximum torque I can stay on the board with and it can go 30MPH, you can’t really say a VESC will be worth triple in this usecase

I run a custom 11s battery pack on my lingytech szly-01-2s028-5.4v chinese esc (it’s set up for 10s) without issue. Aliexpress sells a 12s variant but I don’t know what the difference is. My esc gets warm when I’m climbing hills, but I hooked up a 80x80mm 5vdc fan to the 5vdc power on the esc itself and it blows air on the heatsink, and I can ride up hills all day, no problem. I’m 175 lbs, running 2 x 5065 motors, belt drive.
Been considering changing the battery pack to a 12s and giving it a shot on my esc, but worried it would be too much. But if it is, I’ll just swap it out with the “12s” variant of the esc, it’s only $60 on aliexpress.
