what do u mean?
The bolt doesnāt thread into the aluminum, there are some hardened steel inserts
oh, u can buy those on amazon or some local shops here in the machinist alley by my house
like this
Thats good info I wished to have had a little earlier
I bought five or six sets of Indeesz when they came out. Unless theyāve changed things since then, Iām pretty sure the threaded part inside the hanger is a helicoil, so not too sure a thread chaser will be much help. Maybe a reamer.
If you look at your bolt only the smaller 8mm end is threaded. The part that gets dinged up is the 10mm smooth part, the axle. Surf Rodz bolts have a recessed area that allows the grub screw to mar the surface of the bolt, without causing any problems in taking them out.
Still, I stopped using the grub screws eventually, because there will almost certainly come a time when you forget to remove them when taking the bolt out. When that happens you will end up with the same situation as above, with either the axle stuck in, or, the hanger messed up, if you manage somehow to get the bolt out.
Is that a 6374?
Affirmatory. The old BKB, similar to Kaly and scepterrās dark matter. 74mm long.
2 more photos to show clearance. Motor centers are below the axle (when oriented right side up). Thereās a bit of clearance, so I think it could be brought closer to the deck by a mm or 2.
Youāre the MAN Deuces! Thank you for the info. I hope all this free advertising PsychoTiller is getting on this thread doesnāt deplete his stock before I have money for a set!!!
Edit: Are those the standard press fits?
Heās OOS already, but more on the way I think.
Yeah these are the vanilla ones on the site.
With enough determination and a hand file, u can convert TB mounts to SR mounts lolā¦ hand filed w/ perfect taper and tight enough for press fitment followed by grubs
Before u guys say anything, this is just a test fit, I know the nylon nuts arenāt on the bracket
Lol I almost tried thatš¤£. I figured it might work, but didnāt want to modify either part.
Lol nice
i ordered 3 TB mounts by accident a while back so, i figured wth i have an extraā¦ so now i have the loctite drying and tomorrow im going to get 100mm shoulder bolts from fastenal, 10mm bearings (turns out fastenal sells 10mm bearings for 1$ and some change) and some aluminium spacers since i forgot to order some with my SR trucks xD
went belt shoppingā¦ Using bbman calculator:
ctc 71mm Ā± 3mm (68-74mm)
pulley 68 71 74 sweetspot
14/36 265.5 271.3 277.2 -> 275
15/36 267.6 273.5 279.3 -> 275
16/36 269.7 275.6 281.4 -> 275
pulley 68 71 74 sweetspot
14/40 277.3 283.1 288.8 -> 285
15/40 269.4 285.1 290.9 -> 285
16/40 281.4 287.2 293.0 -> 285
If buying a bunch, vbeltoutlet.com with the $30 fast shipping will quickly become economical, at about $2/belt. This will be my first time, so canāt vouch for them.
NOTE metro pulleys are too much for 80mm axles
NOTE jlabs most recent pulleys have a face on the inside, need 80mm axles. And theyāre 12mm. The way these mounts work, the press-on part might work better if it can recess into the wheel pulley cavity. And would allow maybe 70mm axles.
The surfrodz 10mm bearings have a red side and black side. I donāt think itās a big deal, but anyone know which side faces out?
Iām not sure if thereās a difference between the bearing sides. I had the black side out, and they got dirty quickly:(
I have the red side out because LHB says it improves performance by 20%. Also I think my prebuilt tkpās came that way from psychotiller.
Most likely within 5 or 6 days Iāll have a bunch.
Iām in for a set of two!!!
