I bought replacements thanks to Francisco. I’ll try to fix the old one later as well.

That would explain why it was near impossible to get the bolts out. I had to use vice grips.
When you bolt two plates together on a flat plane, there is nowhere for the metal to go so if you over torque the bolts you will fuck the thread. Lesson learnt now hopefully.

You can just use a thread chaser, walk away whistling and not tell anyone, any jobs going in your place?
