Janux IC (Inter-Changeable) Gear Drive kit includes:

  • 2x T6061 6055 Aluminum motor plates
  • 2x T6061 6055 Aluminum truck adapters (specify SR RKP, SR TKP)
  • 2x T6061 6055 Aluminum PressFit mounts (specify ABEC, or Kegel type)
  • 2x Gearbox housings
  • 2x Acetal Delrin (POM) wheel spur gear (choice of 42, 43, 44, 45, or 46t)
  • 2x 304 Stainless Steel motor spur gear (choice of 15, 16, 17, or 18t)
  • 2x Rubber Sealer V-Ring
  • 2x bearings
  • All necessary hardware

Tools you will need:

  • Size 2.5, 3.0 Hex tools
  • Loctite
  • Any gear Lubricant (Grease)

Installation Instruction

Installing the wheel spur gear :

Locate PressFit mount and wheel spur gear. :point_down: 2

Apply blue Loctite to thread and mate gear to PressFit mount. :point_down: 3

Gear/Pressfit assembly :point_down: 4

Installing Motor plate :

Locate motor plate and truck adapter. :point_down: 5

Slide motor plate over truck hangar. :point_down: 6

Press truck adapter onto hangar. :point_down: 7

Attach motor plate to adapter.:point_down: 8

Installing Motor :

Locate motor spur gear, 3mm key, and motor. :point_down: 9

Apply blue Loctite to thread, loosely install the motor to motor plate. :point_down: 10

Double fold a piece of paper (~0.5 to 0.75mm) to use as filler gauge. :point_down: 11

Insert gear and 3mm key onto motor shaft with the paper between motor plate and gear. :point_down: 12

Apply Loctite to thread then lockdown. :point_down: 13

Backlash adjustment :

Locate gear/Pressfit adapter assembly, bearing, 70mm SR shoulder bolt, silver and black spacers (provided by SR). :point_down: 14

Slide silver SR spacer over shaft. :point_down: 15

Drop bearing into adapter. :point_down: 16

Press gear/Pressfit assembly to wheel. :point_down: 17

Slide SR black spacer over shaft. :point_down: 18

Torque down shoulder bolt, spur gears are now loosely engaged and aligned. :point_down: 19

Place a folded paper in between the spur gear and the pinion :point_down: 20

Squeeze the spur gear and the pinion together. :point_down: 21

Lockdown the outside hex bolts. :point_down: 22

Remove the wheel assembly, lockdown the remaining inner bolts. :point_down: 23

Installing the motor housing :

Locate the housing and V-ring. :point_down: 24

Insert gear/Pressfit assembly thru housing opening. :point_down: 25

Lightly grease the V-ring, slide over spur boss. :point_down: 26

Guide assembly onto wheel ( Do not press on housing ). :point_down: 27

Place wheel on table, press on spur gear ( not housing ) to wheel. :point_down: 28

Insert SR silver spacer and bearing over shaft :point_down: 29

Slide SR black spacer onto shaft. :point_down: 31

Final assembly :

Slide housing assembly to motor plate. :point_down: 32

Insert bolts to complete the drive gear system. :point_down: 32

Finally some action on the forums! Not a bad price point either :slight_smile:

What’s the minimum wheel size these can handle? Also, you sure 6365 Maytech motors wouldn’t fit in dual configuration?

Would these be compatible with Psychothiller’s HeXL trucks? I’m guessing not because of the press fit mount.

Dual Maytech 6365 should fit. Clearance between motor plates is 133mm.

If Psychothiller’s HeXL trucks have the same profile as SR TKP, then it’s compatible.

The V-ring contacts the POM cover directly?

Yes, V-ring is in full contact to the POM housing.
. The function of V-ring is 2 folds:

  • keep lubricant (grease) from escaping in the gear box
  • keep dirt/debris from getting inside the gear box

What’s the length of the shaft on your motors?

The maximum length of the shaft measures from the motor face to the tip is 22mm.

Motor Prep:

Wrap motor in plastic wrap or paper to prevent shaving from sticking to magnets: p1

Final shaft length ~15mm measured from motor plate p2

Installing Motor Plate :

  1. Locate PressFit mounts and motor plates. 1

  2. Apply blue Loctite to thread and mate plate to PressFit mount. 2

  3. Apply blue Loctite to thread, loosely install motor (6355 up to 6374) to plate 3

  4. Using provided Pressfit block, torque down axle to seat motor mount adapter assembly. 4

  5. Apply Loctite to thread, lock down setscrews. 5

Installing Motor Gear :

  1. Locate motor gear and 3mm key. 6

  2. Double folds a piece a paper (~0.5 to 0.75mm) to serve as shim between motor plate and gear, apply Loctite to thread, lock down setscrew. 7

Backlash adjustment :

  1. Locate gear/Pressfit wheel adapter, bearing, 70mm SR shoulder bolt (provided by SR), silver and black spacers (provided by SR). 8
