I am new to DIY esk8. This is my first build and it has been a blast. Here’s my build specs:
- Hummie Deck
- Big Ben Enclosure
- Flipsky 6374 Battle Hardened 190kv dual motors
- Flipsky trucks and 150mm Honey Comb Airless Wheels
- Flipsky dual FSESC 6.6/6.7 Pro with Bluetooth
- Flipsky VX4 Remote and Receiver
- JBD 20 Amp Smart BMS wired for charge only
- 12S6P Molicell P42A 21700 Battery pack built myself
This was an incredibly fun build. Battery was a lot of fun to build and went super smooth. Followed a bunch of YouTube videos and forums to learn how to properly build it.
First test drive was today and boy it’s got crazy torque and acceleration. May have to dial that back.
I noticed when I was programming the VESC and testing the board and motors on my counter last night that everything was totally fine. VESC turned on and off immediately when pressing the button.
I brought the board to my parents for the weekend to finish it and unplugged the power button before leaving so I could drill a hole in the enclosure for it. I left the VESC plugged into the battery.
Now it turns on fine but when I try and turn it off it takes about 30 seconds for the button light and VESC to actually turn off.
Any suggestions? I’m just expecting that I friend something in the VESC but I dunno. There was no noise or smoke or anything.
