Is that to charge from an external battery pack?

I like that a lot. im guessing you could charger from any input voltage?

would be great to have a single charge port to charge at home or on the go. If the input voltage is low enough i guess you could also charge from the 12v on a car.

It’s a voltage booster with CC CV output to act as the charger. I should be able to plug in any DC source from 12 to 40v and charge the battery if it all works as planed.

Are you fitting it inside your enclosure?

Yeah onboard. It’s rather low profile for a boost converter, so long as you keep the amps low I think it won’t get too hot. Will have to see.

Can you name a few dc sources that would work then that you could find on the go?

  • Cars provide 12-14v for topping up whilst on the way to an even.

  • USB-C can provide up to 20V at up to 5A.

  • Solar charger could be an option for camping

  • Any battery pack from 4s to 12s could be used to charge a 12s board.

  • large capacity lipos could be used as backup battery.

terribly impressive! thanks for sharing, always enjoy seeing positive esk8 stories in the news!

It makes following groups of teenagers around the mountains much more entertaining! There’s not many jobs where you get paid to play on your board…

Very nice…

Being able to charge at ~100W off any random laptop charger would be so convenient. @lrdesigns curious to see how hot it gets, let us know how it goes.

In recent news: epoxy is hot and melts cups you mixed it in…

I would not go higher than 3A when charging. I have the 600w version and at 4a it was getting rather warm, I’ve now got a fan mounted and can easily push up to [email protected], I’ve just got to be careful how hot my connectors get lol

The pictures only thread got locked because of 10000+ replies, im sure you have probably seen this before me but could anyone make a new thread for pics only?

I like the idea
