or maybe 2 of these? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__21373__ZIPPY_Compact_5000mAh_6S_25C_Lipo_Pack.html?strSearch=6s%20zippy%20compact

Awesome! Seriously thank you for all of the help!

Ain’t no thaaaaang! Good luck with your build.

Anyone have any info on how I could easily charge batteries? I’ll most likely be using 2 5000 mAh LiPo batteries, and it seems charging them can be a hassle.

Are there any alternatives to taking them out of your board and charging them separately? Ideally I’d like to have a charging port on my enclosure that I can stick my charger in and not have to worry about connecting/disconnecting any wires.

(Sorry if this is common knowledge, I’ve only ever charged LiPos from single-battery traxxas rc cars)

I have my batteries on board and charge them through a charge plug on the side of the container. http://esk8content.nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com/uploads/db2454/optimized/1X/ed82ac0ad49be8fab5393dae9577676714e323a7_1_500x500.jpg

Awesome thank you! I’ll be doing this, sorry for such a simple question haha

Same thing on mine- charging leads outside of the case so I don’t have to fiddle with wires.

Here’s what i’ve decided on for my build so far! Let me know what you think and if there can be any improvements.

Tacon 160 245kV Motor Hobbywing Xerun 150a ESC 2 x Zippy Flightmax 5000mAh 3S Batteries with XT90 connectors Enertion 9mm HTD5 belt Aluminum 14t HTD Motor Pulley Enertion 36t Drive Hub Kit GT2B 83mm FlyWheels I will be buiding/welding my own motor mount

What charger would you reccommend? Anything i’m missing?

Great part list. I’d recommend an IMAX B6AC or an iCharger (iCharger is better but more expensive. IMAX B6AC is a good charger to start with because it has a built in power supply but the iCharger you have to buy one.

You may also need a series harness and an on/off switch.

I’d recommend using a 15mm belt and pulleys with a single motor setup.

A series harness is for the batteries, correct?

Yes. They are for the batteries.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/_10264__XT60_Harness_for_2_Packs_in_Series_1pc.html this is the one i found. Will wiring in series will give me more ride time, or is that parallel?

Parallel gives more ridetime. Series makes you go faster. Simply put.

Edit: since i saw you decided for 2x 3s 5Ah batteries, use the series connector to get a total 6s 5Ah battery.

Ok, I had them mixed up! Thanks for the help!

Hi everyone, I’m in the process of ordering all of my parts, and would like to know:

What power switch for the outside of my enclosure should I get? I’ve heard that some switches have a slow power drain even when in the off position.

I will be ordering my wheel pulley assembly from but there are two options (see picture) Which one do i get? I will be using 83mm FlyWheels

abec 11 makes the legit flywheels, so get that one.

The Hobbywing XERUN will have it’s own power switch. I would just use that one. I have never had an issue with the power drain.
