ok on my way home i noticed something, it only happens during the first 10 mins of the ride then it’s fine. it’s still happening but it’s really smoothed out now if that makes sense. i also floored it up 2 steep hills without it happening. it’s more so at low speeds when i feel it.

I have the same issue, but sadly no one could point me in the right direction. I moved my reciever all the way to the front of my enclosure, but it still persists. In my case it seems like the same. I get cogging either when fully charged or when I am short before the battery cutoff starts, e.g. at 36 to 35V with 10S battery. @Blasto do you have any further suggestions?

All i did was remove my enclosure and now my Unity is not powering on anymore. lol…WTF i didnt even touch anything…I had a feeling it was something up with this Unity.

Your switch is still properly connected?

Hi, I’m having an issue where one of my motor is making a bit of noise. Does anyone know how you can fix that? It’s not an issue with the PPM configuration, as it’s using UART. A friend of mine (not in the esk8 world, just general motors) says this happens when motors are running sensorless. Could this have anything to do with that? The sensor wires are connected.

My current motor configuration:

is there a lag response on your Photon?

I don’t think so? I’m not sure what you mean.

yes it is…I jumped the switch and the Unity powered on so something is up with that switch. in addition to that i also have this weird cogging effect going on. I’m scared to ride this thing.

I had something like that and i found my sensor wires were swapped. Something is up with motor 2 shouldn’t the black dot be there as well.

Black dot just signifies that you manually told it to switch direction of that motor (in case one is spinning the wrong way)

I got confused and thought it was not picking up the sensor the other day. If the sensor isn’t detected, the 2 pictures next to “HALL” will be blank.

thx…cool, got it. I have to remember that one.

I wondered the same thing…if you find out could you post here.

anyone know the voltage rating for the momentary switch for the unity. looking for a replacement.

I’ve got an issue and pretty sure it’s motor related rather thank unity, could someone suggest what may be the issue. I’ve only put two hours riding on these motors from new. Motors both spin freely by hand. Unity motor Detection spins right motor correctly but left hardly moves. ! Also when I’m walking the board back to the car. Left motor has a negative amps value and right has positive. Thanks in advance for any advice ui|241x500ui

Your resistance on that side compared to the other is insane. I’ve never seen a result that bad.

24 mOhm vs 1042.

Also, motor 2 isn’t detecting the sensor wire. That’s reflected by the weird yellow symbol next to HALL

Normal values look more like this:

Also your Flux measurement (measured in Webers) is pretty mismatched.

Make sure your motor 2 is wired up correctly and try again. If you get similar results, swap motors left to right and see if the issue follows the motor or the unity ports.

Can’t connect from Android to Focbox Unity. Android app tried from Google Play and APK from GITHUB (1.2.1) and also from Enertion site. Unity firmware: 23.44 Focbox Tool on Windows works. Any idea ? I heard that 1.3 fixes this issue, but can’t find the APK, any link ?

My fried Unity Bluetooth module
v1.1
kindly got replaced by Enertion. Now it manages to connect to the Unity via RX/TX again. Thank you!

The connection dropout was not fixed though by a new BLE module, which apparently is rumoured to be caused by the high polling rate of the Unity. Dropouts happen even with the official Unity Nexus app beta. So in other words, the bluetooth is still completely unusable on my end. :frowning:

So I guess the only option left for me is to compile my own Unity firmware with lower Uart baud rate and flash the NRF52 module with Vedders NRF firmware and see what happens.

There is a patch coming for this in like a week if you just want to wait.

Woop! This bluetooth issue has been bugging me ever since I got my hands on my 1st batch Unity.

I’ll wait for the patch and report back.
