FOCBOX UNITY | Support, Setup & Troubleshooting

I would say give it a try.

sorry for the mega edit @Deodand found it was a display error, the center position is being properly measured in the app

They’re 10k thermistors

Any ballpark guess on the beta value? Or a part number on the thermistors?

If it’s not some unity/gui bug…

Bill, I think another approach is to change how fast the current is allowed to change. This way you keep the power but it comes on more slowly. This will affect brake response too. Basically the reverse of this:

Another thing you can try is another remote, something you’re familiar with, to establish a baseline. If you’re not familiar with any, the mini 2.4ghz has a nice response and is cheap.

Otherwise, if the total power is just too much, I’d keep halving the motor and battery max until you get to a comfortable level.

Wasn’t there an unofficial way to get the unity app on an iOS device?

@Kug3lis @Deodand can’t get the unity to connect wirelessly to the unofficial Mac tool, it only connects if I click connect usb even though nothing’s connecTed and it time out after a while

I doubt bluetooth will work correctly on mac without some fiddling. USB is a good first step, you have a unity plugged in over usb? A bit confused by your statement.

that’s the thing, if i click connect Bluetooth it wont connect, but if i click connect usb it will connect over Bluetooth for a few moments

Give me an hour, i’ll try out the mac version

Did a screen record that I can send, it takes a while till it connect but it eventually does

I was able to connect using the mac version. However had to do a little work around.

Problem: the UI doesnt recongnize new serial connections

Work around:

Using an old version of the vesctool or bldc tool, connect to it, it will give heck about the version. Quit that program, now you can use the focbox UI.

I think the problem is fairly simple to fix. @Kug3lis ?

Might be my fault to… some kind of compatibility fix I didn’t add.

hey, is there any documentation on the correct operation of the switch and how its supposed to work?

I received my unity yesterday and have it powered up on the bench but i feel like my switch is not working correctly.

When i press it to power up the unity the the led ring lights dim. once powered up, pressing the button again causes the led to flicker brighter in an seemingly random manner. holding doesn’t seem to shut down the unity 90% of the time.

@ducktaperules Drop a message to me on the forum with your order ID, I will arrange one for you

Could the issue with the mac version of the tool be caused by the fact that mac os has gotten rid of open GL/ open CL its supported but you need to basically develop it in Apple’s Metal library

I have a Bluetooth remote from a Blitzart board and want to use it with my Unity. Any ideas how to pair them and set it up?
