Sanded down two dead DRV chips to see the die. The right one died ‘normally’. The left one died spectacularly, melting the silicon die, blowing up 4 FETs and vaporizing some PCB traces…

Is there a way to make a DRV that can withstand esk8?

the DRV isnt the problem - the components around the DRV and the settings are the problems.

Got water in my VESC today by riding in light rain. It works for a couple of seconds and then reboots. Gonna try to dry it out a bit by the exhaust from my oven while cooking supper. Fingers crossed.

@lowGuido: But bro, it is. It’s a Flier VESC. It was the first one I ever got and it’s been quite reliable actually. But now it’s dead :’(
