RAPTOR 2 | Most Powerful Direct Drive Electric Skateboard | Kickstarter

Hi, I think less urethane is also a disadvantage for comfort but it’s a trade-off if we want the simplicity of the hub motor and get rid of the belt.

Congtats Onloop on the new board…loving the whole package.

Q. 360wh Battery …do you have any more info on the spec - and does it incorporate any new technology?

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Having a thin wheel and creating a hard ride is definitely an issue for hub motors. I imagine there’s an ideal ratio between hub size and wheel thickness. On the bright side, almost all of the weight is coming from the motor, and the more motor the more power. Also, the bigger the motor, the larger the wheel; easier to roll over stuff. I’m sure we’ll eventually have swappable wheels for hub motors.

Already working on this with hummie. I’m trying to convince him to make 90mm, 97mm, and 107mm wheels also. Each of his wheels can be replaced in less than 1 minute per wheel, super easy, no bearings, spacers, ect. Just 6 screws, a plate, and then they pop off.

I hope enertion takes the same route, as it’s an easy way to adjust torque and top speed with hubs.

Awesome!!! What’s the baseplate angle and can we choose? Want 44 deg

50 degree.

Is Orangatang or Abec making these? Just wondering since its made in America.

One of the specialist skateboard wheel manufacturers in the US who makes many of the best longboard wheels are making these wheels.

Any chance you’ll be selling new wheels like these that’ll be compatible with your current nylon pulleys?

Yes, I treated also to convince hummie to do larger wheels like 107mm but is not a priority as much as longer hubs. Can’t do everything lol!

I like the carbon fiber washer. You should sell those individually! Haha. But really

97-107mm changeable wheels with Hubs is the future, you roll over everything in urban commutes, go for it.

The Ghost 90mm is ok but 80a is too hard. This is good for roads in australia but not for shitty sidewalks. (it’s illegal to ride on the road in most european countries)

this 80a is actually very soft - equivalent to kegel, you can see me bend it with my fingers.

Its similar to flywheel 75a / orangutang kegel 80a

Yeah, @onloop where’s your big boy version when it come to wheels lol!! There is an urban market for these 97-107mm, really. Especially swappable hub tires of size. And of course my snow tires given WINTER IS COMING !!

What is the weight? Deck length?

I’m confused. I’ve ridden 75a abecs and 80a kegels and the abecs are much softer but ok…

Your Instavid is the front-wheel but on the backwheel there is much less urethan to make it soft. We will see how these wheels turn out in real city environment, the bigger the better, the softer the better, the more torque the better. Whoever comes closes to this is a winner and will get my money.

Big soft torque!

Damn @onloop. I literally just bought my Raptor a couple weeks ago and now I have to buy a new one. Raptor 2 is looking awesome! And here I spent too many hours on my raptor getting everything black on mine. Nice to know I won’t have to do that on this new one. Trucks look way better black than that electric baby blue or whatever it is.
