I have a sunkkos as well and I could weld 10mm x 0.2mm Nickel strip without problem. I’ve heard from people struggling with spot welders from America because the power voltage is not so high like in other countries. I have 240V.
I started doing my own spot welder yersterday after finding an old microwave in garbage. Cost with everything will be a cheap 40$
I will put a powerful cooling fan , the box is isolated with fiber glass resin and the also acting as a heat sink
Ther is no way i would spend 300$ on a spot welder when i can build one from scrap
