With Kydex you could make a positive and a negative and probably make something pretty neat?
Those words mean nothing to me
All done by hand. Kydex hates 90° angles without a vacuum former though. But as you can see, even without a former, it comes out very good. I will eventually level both pieces and skin it in CF for a piece envlosure.
Was looking at some videos about how to do it but how should I make the buck to begin with
I made a reinforced cardboard mock up (positive mold) and then applied the kydex and molded it with my hands (negative mold).
Can you just heat up the kydex then just push it down with your hands onto a mould
That’s the idea.
K and can I just buy it on eBay also what does the mould need to be made out of
Also how thick does the kydex have to be
Cardboard, wood, dirty clothes wrapped in duct tape. Your pick
What thickness kydex and I will ask for some more help once I have finished mould
In 2mm enough
Does your brain and/or common sense think 2mm is enough?
Something structural. Meaning something you can put some weight on to mold to it. If it cant support pressure then your mold will colapse
So this guy used 2mm
0.08inch =2mm
You used search to answer your own question?!?!?!
BACK OUT BOYS, OUR WORK HERE IS FUCKING DONE
